Manager  Marketing & Communications

General

Manager, Marketing & Communications, will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages, student recruitment, events management and collateral to consistently articulate UD’s mission. The Manager of Media & Marketing Communications will ensure that UD is viewed as the leading university in the UAE excelling in offering an American system of higher education with emphasis on quality of teaching, research and services to the business community. The Manager of Media & Marketing Communications will work closely with a senior peer group within the organization as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual marketing & communications plan across UD audiences in collaboration with marketing team and outside constituents. Research the market and mentor the latest trends to establish efficient strategic marketing and communications programs complied and aligned with the UD’s vision and growth initiatives.

Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action. Decide who, where, and when to disseminate. Manage the ongoing development, enhancement, and maintenance of the website and social media. Ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly.

Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and magazines. Administer the development of advertising and digital communications to promote UD and effectively communicate the competitive differentiators.

Coordinate and organize meetings that engage UD network’s audiences. Provide support and consultation in response to individual department marketing requests. Ensure effective formulation and implementation of customer communication. Work with other department heads to ensure consistency in messaging. Lead, motivate, coordinate, mentor and guide the Marketing &Communications staff. Provide the University management with reports, details, and accomplishments periodically and when needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of communications experience, ideally in an “in-house” leadership role within a complex (number and variety of constituents)
  • Bachelor degree (Masters degree a plus) in marketing from well known institution.
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills (Bilingual Arabic/English are preferred)
  • Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to “manage by influence”
  • Highly collaborative style; work with all essential groups, including staff, suppliers, donors, program participants, and other stakeholders
  • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently. A proven past performance of initiatives self-started, and creative deeds.

Manager Student Recruitment

General

This position will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a comprehensive strategic student recruitment plan.

The successful candidate will provide broad oversight to the department and a hands-on management style to the staff, as well as possess a working knowledge of current best practices in student recruitment, advisement, and retention in the context of the university’s mission statement. Strong communication and networking skills are essential, and a proven track record of working effectively with other departments on campus is preferred. Strategic planning experience is required, as the manager will have an opportunity to work closely with the senior management of the university.

General duties will include all aspects of the recruitment process, including visiting schools, attending college fairs, managing recruitment territories, travel scheduling and planning, meeting with students, parents and school counselors,principal,companies representing the university at on and off campus events, conducting tours, informational sessions, managing and participating in outreach and calling campaigns, special events and projects as assigned.

Specific Duties

Interpret and analyze data from completed recruitment activities to determine those that were the most successful in improving overall yield, and establish goals for the approaching recruitment year.  Develop and implement a recruitment plan to maximize recruitment efforts for an assigned territory and enhance support of overall admission goals.  Document all student interactions and information that will be beneficial in the recruitment and reporting process.  Compile and assess data, develop and prepare reports of recruitment activities, successes and challenges to the university’s senior management.

Schedule visits to high schools, local government and corporate organizations and participate in college fairs and other recruitment events to communicate the educational opportunity availability at the university to external populations, i.e., prospective students, parents, alumni, community college transfer students, government employees and other adult learners.  Host prospective students during campus visits, information days, scholarship receptions and other on-campus events to help visitors get to know the university campus and learn about the opportunities and advantages the university has to offer.

Plan, organize and coordinate events such as information days, scholarship receptions, etc., to ensure the success of each event.  Compile and assess participant evaluation data and make recommendations for future events.

Communicate with prospective students, school administrators, guidance/college counselors and other vital decision makers in the college planning process in person, via personal phone calls, written and electronic communication and using current technology to develop and nurture relationships that will encourage enrollment and attendance at the university.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (Masters degree a plus) in Marketing from well known Institution.
  • Minimum 10 years previous experience in student recruitment at university level.
  • Previous experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing and recruitment strategies, including the utilization of research and information technologies.
  • Experience within a technology-supported, customer-relationship-management environment.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and successful experience leading student teams.
  • Extensive experience in the retrieval and analysis of marketing and recruitment data.

Assistant, Associate and Full Professors, College of Business Administration (CBA)
