Assessment of Learning Measures
- Equip students with necessary quantitative skills that enable them to perform basic mathematical operations needed for their specialization.
Assessed learning outcome:
Student should demonstrate basic proficiency in core numeracy and computations areas, which include:
- Numerical in all forms.
- Identifying patterns, relationships and functions.
- Applications of mathematics to business and economics
- Solutions linear and equations using graphs
- Identifying and sketching planes in three dimensional coordinates.
- To apply the matrix algebra
- To compute interest
- To understand and apply the exponential and logarithmic functions
- To understand and apply the concepts of differentiation and integration with applications.
- Expose students to a wide variety of human, social and natural sciences that provide knowledge and skills outside their major disciplinary specialization
Student should be able to:
- Describe how human impact on earth has changed through history and why environmental concerns have recently become so prominent.
- Describe the basic principles underlying basic phenomena of environmental changes.
- Describe the technologies associated with major environmental problems and the technologies that may aid in solving these problems
- Distinguish between the environmental impacts of industrial and developing societies.
- Explain why different societies perceive environmental problems differently and pursue different solutions.
