Dr. Bastaki: We are part of UAE’s knowledge-based economy

University of Dubai’s new campus at Academic City came alive as students from the College of Business Administration and the College of Information Technology took their first examinations in the campus.
The university’s staff and faculty offices have been relocated from Deira to the new campus spread over 60,000 square meters. The green campus was constructed in less than two years involving AED 200 million in costs.
On the occasion, Dr. Eesa M. Bastaki, President of the university, urged staff and faculty members to continue working together as a family to reach the goals set before University of Dubai. He said: “We are here to partner with the society to meet the educational needs of each individual. We are here to upgrade the knowledge of each individual for the betterment of the society in line with the vision of our leaders, making sure to educate the people to attain this vision. We are here to offer quality of education so that our country can be globally competitive in education. We are here to be a part of the UAE’s knowledge-based economy and offer all the educational and innovative needs required for its success.”
Dr. Bastaki congratulated the students for having the most beautiful campus in the UAE. He thanked the Dubai Chamber for constructing this magnificent campus saying “we all have to be proud of this day and make sure to make use of every moment of it for the prosperity of UD”.
The University of Dubai has donated hundreds of computers, furniture and other useful items to charities, ahead of its relocation to its new campus at Academic City. On the occasion, Dr. Bastaki said: “No one should be left behind in the society, especially when it comes to education and learning.”
