As the General Chairman of “The 5th International Conference on Electronic Devices, Systems and Applications” (ICEDSA 2016) which will be held at the School of Engineering in the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURK) from December 6th-8th, President of the Univeristy of Dubai (UD) Dr. Eesa Bastaki opened the conference on December 6th by thanking all participants and scholars who will be presenting research papers about IT and telecommunications projects throughout the conference.
During his speech at the opening, Dr. Bastaki recited the history of wire and wireless inventions from electricity to internet of things through many important inventions in the past that helped people advance their lifestyles around the globe.
“What happened in the past in term of inventions and innovations has been now realized in the United Arab Emirates where many UAE scholars are involved in research, transportations, communications, energy and water supplies, health, environment and space aspirations,” he remarked. He added: “the UAE is advancing with a unique vision in mind (made locally sold globally)” insisting that all inventions, research and studies must be implemented with business results in mind.
The 5th ICEDSA 2016 focuses on the latest theoretical and practical developments in the fields of Electronic Devices, Systems and Applications and the related fields. It is jointly organized by the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK), UAE and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia. It aims to provide engineers, professionals, academics and researchers with a platform to disseminate and discuss their current research findings and explore recent developments, current practices and future research and technological trends.
