Message from the UDAA President

Dear Alumni,  

It has been an incredible year for the University of Dubai Alumni Association (UDAA). We are continually seeking new and exciting ways to promote your achievements and to keep you engaged with the University. 

First, I want to offer my congratulations to the Class of 2015 and welcome you to membership in the UDAA.  

Second, I would like to thank each alumni or board member and the Alumni Relations office staff at UD who have contributed to the success of the UDAA programs and events last year. 

In this past year, we have had outstanding success with the UD 6th Annual Alumni Homecoming which was held on March 7th, 2015 under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and which had a record of about 300 alumni in attendance. This important event reconnect you with the university, keep you updated of its new programs, allow you to meet your old friends and network on a more personal level. Each year our alumni base keeps growing, and we are working hard to keep in touch with all of our alumni.

6th Annual Alumni Homecoming 2015
The 6th Annual Alumni Homecoming event of the University of Dubai was organized under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Social Development, on March 7, 2015, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai. Read more.

 
Congratulations Class of 2015
Congratulations to the Class of 2015 on all of your amazing achievements, and welcome to the UD Alumni Association! We are a community of about two thousands undergraduate and graduate alumni living and working in and outside UAE. We celebrate your accomplishments, and look forward to being by your side as you navigate the exciting opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
As you begin to plan the next steps in your career and studies, please remember that we are here to help in any way we can - through networking opportunities, career services, and benefits that we exclusive to UD alumni.

Celebration of the 5th Year of the Alumni-Student Mentoring Program
On September 14, 2015, the University of Dubai (UD) Alumni Association celebrated at Dubai Chamber, Five Years Anniversary of it Alumni-Student Mentoring Program (ASMP).
Dr Eesa Bastaki, UD president congratulated the Alumni Association describing UD mentors as heart-giving individuals who believe in community education. He said that “mentoring involves exchange of ideas between those who experienced success in education and those who are about to discover that experience.”  Bastaki reiterated his support for the Alumni Association in its quest to provide best opportunities to its members.

Alumni and Friends of the University of Dubai Scholarship program (AFUDSF)
UD Alumni Relations at the University of Dubai initiated collaboration with reputed charity societies in UAE such asAl Khair Society, Dar El Ber Society, Dubai Charity Association and Easa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation for the sake of securing financial support for the UD merit students who are facing financial challenges. Through these collaborations, we were able to bring financial support to 12 students who benefited of AED 273,740 as part of our Alumni and Friends of the University of Dubai Scholarship program.
Alumni Involvement in UD Research Projects
Through its Center for Research and Consultancy (UDCRC), the University of Dubai faculty members continue to generate valuable research that will help shape business and Information Technology in the 21st Century As a UD family member, you have a unique opportunity to contribute to our research activities by either assisting professors produce valuable research that will serve the business community or promote our Research and Consultancy Center to your own employers or your connections from the business field.Read more.

Nahla Hamad Bin Fahad Almheiri

 

UD graduate, Nahla Al Fahad first documentary film "The Tainted Veil" is making its way to the Oscar. A documentary film co-directed by Nahla could potentially make history when the short list for the Oscar awards are announced in December.

 


University of Dubai Alumni Association (UDAA) Board of Directors meetings
The University of Dubai Alumni Association (UDAA) is the official group for graduates of the University of Dubai (UD).  The UDAA is open to all graduates of the University, regardless of college, major or graduation year.  Membership is free; you only need to keep your personal information updated in with the Alumni Relations Office at UD in order to be invited to events and functions.
The activities and programs of the UDAA are overseen and supported by its Board of Directors, headed by Sheikh Mohammed Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum.  The Board is made up of 16 members and additional voluntary members who volunteer their time, effort and resources to serve the UD alumni community.
