University of Dubai Continues To Implement “Hybrid Education” Next Semester

The University of Dubai (UD) announced that it will continue to implement the “hybrid education” system in the upcoming semester, which is scheduled to start next Sunday, for its bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs, with the exception of some practical classes and exams that require students to be present on campus.

UD will also continue to receive online registration applications for the next semester and provide full and partial scholarships for citizens and residents to study Engineering, Information Technology, Business and Law. This plan comes in line with its strategy to maintain international standards for quality in education, attract outstanding students, and provide a motivational academic environment.

Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, President of the University, reaffirmed that the application of this system comes in parallel with the UAE’s directions to prepare for the post-Covid-19 phase and with the Ministry of Education’s plans to grant universities the freedom to implement Hybrid Education. “Our decision to adopt this new strategy has come after the great success we achieved in applying it last semester amidst accurate and intensive precautionary and preventive measures,” he added.  He pointed out that the colleges at UD have successfully implemented, in the first semester, a “hybrid” educational system that combines practical and theoretical aspects with distance learning in order to provide distinctive and integrated education experience for students. He said that the University’s infrastructure as well as its teaching and administrative bodies are fully prepared for this transformation.

“The upcoming period will focus more on the use of modern and advanced technologies and direct students toward making optimal use of the economic free zone, innovation and creativity,” he said.
