The study will assess the responses of consumption and prices to the COVID-19 shock in Dubai. Responses of supermarket sales and prices at a daily frequency will be assessed to understand the consumer behavioral change due to the shock.

Since the outbreak of the COVID – 19 pandemic, it has had a significant impact on the UAE economy which is similar to other countries in the world of similar economic development. However, It is conventionally accepted that this pandemic had different effects on the different sectors of the economy in general and more particularly had a more significant impact on the world supply chain since countries began locking down their borders. In this paper, we would like to focus on the impact this pandemic had on the UAE economy by investigating at the micro level on its impact on the different sectors of the UAE economy.
