Dr.Mohamed Abdi Osman

Dr. Osman is an associate professor of Economics and Statistics. Currently, he is the director of the graduate program at the Dubai Business School. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Prior to joining University of Dubai in the fall of 2015/16, he worked as a research Economist at Unity Home Health Care Inc.; professor of economics at CSCC in Columbus, Ohio; assistant professor of economics and statistic at university of Dubai. His research interests lie on the edge of energy economics; macroeconomics; international macroeconomics and international finance. His research areas mainly cover but not limited to the topics of energy economics; forecasting economic growth; macroeconomic aspects of international finance, international portfolio allocation, income and consumption smoothing, and modelling asymmetric behavior of macroeconomic variables. Currently, Dr. Osman has a number of publications in the selected economic and finance journals including; energy policy, Australian Economic Papers, World Economy, Journal of Economics and Finance; International Economics and Economic Policy; Review of Middle East Economics and Finance; International Journal of energy economics and policy; International Journal of Economics and Business Research. He has acted as a referee for many different journals and currently he is the reviewer for the Journal of Agricultural & Food Industrial Organization.
