Alumni – Student Mentoring Program Orientation Day – Sept 28, 2016
The Alumni Relations Office at the University of Dubai organized the “Alumni - Student Mentoring Program - Orientation Day” last September. The event was attended by Ms. Amina El Marzak, Director of Students & Alumni Affairs, UD Staff and faculty members, the new joiners of mentors and mentees, as well as the last year’s batch. The orientation was presented UD alumnus Mr. Ali Angizeh, Vice President, Terminal & Cargo Operations, Dubai Airports and Alumni Association’s board member. UD Provost, Dr. Geoffrey Gachino awarded the last year’s 2015-2016 most successful mentoring relationship Ms. Urwa Tariq (Mentor) & Mr. Mansour Dzaurov (Mentee).

UD President & Faculty Meet with UDAA BOD - Feb 8, 2017
Every year, the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors organizes meetings with the UD President, Dr. Eesa Bastaki, and faculty members to share with them the association’s achievements, challenges and future plans plus explore ideas on how the Alumni Association can help UD to grow and prosper. UD Alumni Association’s 1st VP Ahmed Al Falasi, started the event with a welcoming note, followed by a presentation by Ms. Amina El Marzak, Student & Alumni Affairs Director. The meeting ended with new ideas and plans for the upcoming academic year.

Alumni Association’s Brain Storming Session - Feb 28, 2017
The UD Alumni Association’s Board of Directors had a brainstorming session to get ideas and thoughts on how the Alumni can contribute to the University of Dubai’s growth and prosperity.
This session was attended by UDAA Board members, Dr. Eesa Bastaki-UD President, Dr. Geoffrey Gachino-UD Provost, along with Ms. Amina El Marzak-Director, Students & Alumni Affairs, and Farah Al Shaibani, Alumni Relations.

Alumni Guest Speaker Series – Spring 2017
This is a one-week program held each semester to assist new students in transitioning from high school to university. Last Spring Alumnus Ala Mikdadi who is a part-time instructor at University of Dubai, conducted 3 lectures for different classes as part of UD Alumni Guest Speaker Series in spring 2017. “Learn how to be a Mentor” a workshop for Mentors & Mentees - Mar 22, 2017
The Alumni Relations office and the UD Alumni Association Board of Directors organized a workshop named “Learn how to be a mentor” .The objective of the workshop was to learn effective mentoring relationship techniques, and included skills for understanding student behavior, active listening, communication, plus motivational skills. We thank Mrs. Racha Al Khawaja who presented the successful workshop which was attended by more than 20 guests, majority were UD alumni mentors.

Alumni & Friends of UD Scholarship Fund (AFUDSF) 2016-2017
The objective of this program is to support the UD mission by providing financial support to existing UD undergraduate students who have difficulties paying their fees. Indigent students should meet the AFUDSF guidelines and apply for the financial support through the Alumni Relations Office. The graphs below show amount distributed over the past 4 years to UD students.

University of Dubai and Dubai Charity Association Collaborate in the Month of Giving – May 31, 2017
The University of Dubai Alumni Association (UDAA), in collaboration with Dubai Charity Association, held its third “Annual Gala Charity Suhoor” during the holy month of Ramadan to raise funds for meritorious students who are facing financial difficulties.
Sponsored by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the suhoor took place on May 31st, 2017 at St. Regis Hotel under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum and it targeted the vision of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan which announced 2017 as the “Year of Giving.” Read more
