I. Registration & Course Enrollment

Go to the “Change Semester” field in the Student Portal and select the appropriate semester/term labeled by Fall, T1, etc., with your program level (UG, MS, MBA, PhD). Refer to the academic calendar or advisor if unsure.

Check the Academic Calendar on the Registrar’s web page for all important academic deadlines.

Add/Drop occurs during the first week of classes in Fall/Spring and the first two days of Summer.

No. The system does not allow course registration with overlapping schedules.
Action: The system does not allow students to register for courses with overlapping schedules.

Advisors can register students for failed, withdrawn, or D-graded courses.

Contact the Registration Office to check if it is an Independent Study or hidden in error.

Visit the Program Director for approval and submit via Student Portal. The Registration Office will finalize registration.

Only students graduating in the same semester may take it as a co-requisite, as per the Academic Progress Policy.

18CH if CGPA ≥2.0; 12CH if on probation (CGPA <2.0).

Rebook the courses online or through your advisor, and confirm immediately with Finance.

  • Follow deadlines in the Academic Calendar and register during official periods.

– Capstone: Eligible students (90CH+) register via advisor. If issues occur, visit the Registration Office.
  Action: Eligible students (completed 90CH) can register for the Capstone course through their academic advisor. If registration is not possible, direct the student to the Registration Office.
– Thesis: Visit the Registration Office directly.
  Action: Direct the student to the Registration Office.

Eligible students (93CH+) apply via the Internship Department. Once approved, visit the Registration Office for booking.
Action: Students eligible for internships (completed 93CH) must apply through the Internship Department. Once approved, direct the student to the Registration Office.

II. Holds & Academic Standing

– Missing Documents: Submit to Registration Office.
– Finance Hold: Visit Finance Department.
– Remedial Course Hold: Register or pass remedial course.
– HS Score Hold: Complete 30CH with CGPA 2.0; otherwise request temporary void.
– English Score Hold: Submit IELTS/TOEFL or pass placement/Pre-English course.

Visit the Registration Office to understand the hold and required steps.

Visit the Finance Department directly.
Action: Advise the student to visit the relevant office for Financial Aid.

Meet with your academic advisor for assistance.

Visit your college and consult with the Program Director.

Refer the student to the Program Director. Requires Provost approval.

III. Advising & Major Declaration

Submit request via Student Portal. Advisor and Program Director must approve. Registrar updates the audit within 24 working hours. Deadline is August 1 each year.

 

– UG: CGPA <2.0, G: CGPA <3.0.
– 3 warnings: Register via advisor, max 12CH.
– 4+ warnings: Refer to Program Director.
– Grad students: Max load is 6CH.

Visit your college (BBA, CEIT, LLB) and speak to the Assistant to the Program Director.

IV. Exams & Final Grades

Two weeks before exams start. Posted on the Student Portal.

Email reghelpdesk@ud.ac.ae with your ID and exam details.

V. Letters, Transcripts, and Certificates

Request through Student Portal. Processing takes 2–3 business days.

Submit request via Student Portal > Letter Requests. Processing: 2–3 business days.

Usually within 2–3 months after the semester ends and after clearance.

Yes. You may request an Acknowledgment Letter (Ifada) after completing graduation clearance.

Eligible students receive an email with application instructions. Apply by the deadline.

VI. Personal & Academic Records

High school/degree certificates, passport, Emirates ID, valid English score, etc.

Update through the Student Portal. Name/nationality changes require valid passport and must go through the Registration Office.

Visit the Registration Office to clarify your case.
Action: Transfer credits are usually settled at the time of admission. Course exemptions are based on the Advanced Placement policy and the student’s submitted scores. If the student believes there are missing transferred courses, refer them to the Registration Office.

VII. System Access & Technical Issues

Contact the Registration Office or the person currently logged in. Always log out properly instead of clicking “X”.

Action: Direct the student to the Registration Office.
