Overview
Dr. Ahmed Abdelgawad is an Assistant Professor of Public Law with expertise in Comparative Constitutionalism, Comparative Jurisprudence, Law and Religion, and Law and Technology. He is a former Fulbright Scholar, having earned a second LL.M. in Comparative Constitutional Law and Human Rights, and served as a Fellow at the Institute of Transnational Law at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He also worked as a legal researcher at the Aspen Institute in Washington, D.C., focusing on U.S. constitutional jurisprudence, and was a Fellow in the Young Scholars Fellowship jointly organized by the University of Oxford and Brigham Young University. His doctoral research examined the jurisprudence of the Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court.
Before joining the University of Dubai, Dr. Abdelgawad taught for eight years at the British University in Egypt, where he played a leading role in advancing clinical legal education by founding legal clinic modules and developing the field of Law and Technology. He also consults with leading law firms and academic institutions.
