Overview

Ganesh Chembai Balasubramanian is an Assistant Professor at the Dubai Business School, University of Dubai. He holds a Ph.D. in Management (Operations and Decision Sciences) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A).  He is a visiting researcher at the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics & Supply Chain Management, University of Luxembourg.

 

Ganesh's research focuses on the intersection of operations and marketing, utilizing game-theoretic models to provide managerial insights on inventory, pricing, and product distribution. His doctoral dissertation examined inventory and technology adoption in decentralized supply chains. He received the Emerging Economies Doctoral Student Award for the Asia Pacific region from the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), USA, in 2022. Recently, he received the Bryant University Best Paper Award at the NEDSI Conference (USA) 2025. Ganesh's research articles have appeared in top supply chain journals such as International Journal of Production Economics (ABS 3), Naval Research Logistics (ABS 3), and Electronic Commerce Research (ABS 2). He also serves as reviewer for several elite journals in the field such as Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, Transportation Research Part E, Review of Industrial Organization, and International Journal of Production Economics. Alongside research, Ganesh is passionate about teaching and mentoring students.
