Dr. Mia Swart is Assistant Professor at the University of Dubai. She is Visiting Professor at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and formerly worked as Associate Professor at the University of Sharjah and Professor of International Law at the University of Johannesburg. She has also previously worked for the Middle East Council of Global Affairs (formerly Brookings Doha Centre) and the British Institute for International and Comparative Law and has consulted for UNDP and Amnesty International. She is a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and writes on international criminal law, transitional justice and human rights law.
