Dr. Tie Xu graduated from Aston Business School in the UK, #47 in the QS World University Rankings 2024, with a Doctorate Degree in Operations Management. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Risk, Crisis & Disaster Management from University of Leicester which is a top-ranking UK university with a world renowned reputation for School of Management. Prior to his appointment at University of Dubai, he was a senior lecturer in operations & supply chain management at the Sunderland Business School for 9 years where he also ran the executive training courses for managers with Nissan UK for over 4 years. He has been leading the teaching & developments in the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels underpinned by subject expertise and research insights. Dr. Tie Xu had worked on several consultancy and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships with leading manufacturing companies and distribution service businesses across the UK. Dr. Tie Xu was also a curriculum advisor and course examiner for 5 years at the Newcastle Business School which runs one of the largest distance learning programs in supply Chain management in collaboration with Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Tie Xu’s research and consultancy interests are focused on novel insights, theories and compelling examples of good practices, in the area of contemporary operations, logistics and supply chain management. Their relevance to real world practices is what he believes to be the key asset. He joined University of Dubai for his full-time faculty position as a senior lecturer in the Fall Semester 2024.
