Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Systems – Information Systems Security Concentration is a 123-credit-hour programme designed to prepare students for careers in cybersecurity, information systems and digital risk management. The programme combines a strong foundation in computing, business and information technology with specialised study in protecting systems, networks, databases and digital assets. Students develop core knowledge in programming, networking, data structures and algorithms, database management, operating systems, data analytics, artificial intelligence, information systems security and IT project management. They then progress to specialised courses in Information Systems Security Management, Ethical Hacking and Network Defense, Database Security and Auditing, Digital Forensics and Investigation, and Disaster Recovery Planning. The programme also provides practical learning through two capstone projects and either an internship or an industry project, enabling students to apply their technical knowledge to real-world cybersecurity and information systems challenges. Graduates are equipped with the technical, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills required to support secure digital operations across government, business, finance, technology and other sectors.
