ìBidayat,î New Student Orientation program, announced this Saturday the beginning of the new Academic Year 2017-2018 at the University of Dubai (UD). Packed with ice-breakers in addition to entertaining and informative activities, Bidayat witnessed the attendance and participation of all new and current students enrolled in UDís Dubai Business School and College of Engineering and Information Technology. This day was organized by the Department of students Services (DSS) at UD in order to welcome new and current students and prepare them for university life. UD President Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki said during the event that UD is constantly developing its programs and specializations in line with the UAE leader’s future vision. He pointed out that the university is continuously seeking to attract outstanding students from all nationalities, and therefore it has allocated scholarships and discounts for them in addition to special offers for employees of government entities. ìThe university is working hard toward achieving its goal of quality education and establishing happiness and positivity as a way of thinking and lifestyle,î Dr. Al Bastaki added. Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jeffrey Gachino spoke to students about the significant academic aspects of the relationship between students and professors as he gave them several important tips for success and academic excellence in their studies. Amina El Marzak, Director of DSS, said that the orientation program for new students included a meeting with the university’s president and deans, an introduction about the universityís programs and specialties, a tour around classrooms and laboratories which are equipped with the latest technologies, in addition to various educational and recreational activities. In order to provide the best service for its visitors and new applicants and provide them another chance to register for the Fall 2017 semester, the Department of Admissions and Student Recruitment at the University is extending its working hours until 7 pm during weekdays and opening on Saturday until 4 pm.
