About CIUD

The Confucius Institute at the University of Dubai, (CIUD) under the authorization of Confucius Institute Headquarters (CI Headquarters), China Ministry of Education , was established in 2011 jointly by the University of Dubai(UD) in the UAE and Ningxia University (one of the 100 key universities) in China. It is the first Confucius Institute established in the UAE and also the first in the GCC countries. It has a professional license issued by the Department of Economic Development and KHDA. CIUD is a testing center authorized by CI Headquarters to host the HSK tests (Chinese proficiency test) in Dubai. It possesses a certificate as an HSK administrator and is certified by Chinese Testing International (CTI). CIUD is also the 140th Host Institute for the Confucius Institute Scholarship authorized by CI Headquarters.

CIUD offers an accessible curriculum with flexible schedules. Chinese classes are conducted by professional Chinese teachers with qualification issued by CI Headquarters. The textbooks well organized and offered by Confucius Institute Headquarters are adapted to the local environment. CIUD students will get certificates for one level accomplishment from the University of Dubai. In addition, CIUD students who meet the requirements may have the opportunity to enter the yearly Summer Camp sponsored by CI Headquarters and to apply for a scholarship to study Chinese at a university in China.

CIUD admits students all year round and provides 4 levels of Chinese language courses for two semesters of a year.

CIUD also tailors Chinese training programs for individuals or teams, offers lectures on Chinese culture, furnishes information and organizes certain cultural activities.

Chinese Courses offered:

General Chinese language courses level 1 to level 5 for two semesters of a year. The tuition fee for each semester is AED 3670, which includes registration and learning material package.
Chinese Language for Special Purposes, which focuses on specific language for the workplace in various fields. The price for this type of course is negotiable.

Register at CIUD office, 1st floor, UD Campus, Academic city, Dubai – UAE.
Head south on Emirates Road, take the Exit 49th and the UD campus will be on your right side.
