The University of Dubai invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in law, offering an exciting opportunity to be a part of our new dual degree UAE/UK LLB Program. We will also consider candidates with the relevant experience who would like to work as casual employees on a part-time basis. This ground-breaking initiative pioneers a curriculum that encompasses a comprehensive understanding of both UAE and UK law. As an Assistant Professor, we are looking for someone with legal expertise and experience teaching in a civil law jurisdiction in order to teach UAE law courses in the areas of Public Law, including constitutional, administrative, and criminal law. Our innovative teaching approach is conducted exclusively in English. You may be required to teach on the LLM program or some of the UK LLB law courses according to the needs of the faculty. The role will commence 8 January 2024. Partnership with Renowned Institution: Our partnership with the University of London, a world-renowned institution, sets our program apart. Students will graduate with a dual qualification – a UAE law degree and a prestigious UK law degree from the University of London. This collaboration ensures that our graduates are equipped with an international perspective and a comprehensive legal education. Job Requirements:
  • Hold a PhD Degree in law.
  • Possess a minimum of two years of teaching experience at reputable institutions.
  • Engage actively in scholarly research and other academic pursuits.
  • Be a graduate of a reputable university.
  • Demonstrate mastery of the English language for effective instruction. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
  • Exhibit advanced use of educational technology, including e-learning systems and presentations.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver courses within the discipline, aligned with the University’s fundamental standards of Teaching, Research, and Services.
  • Offer instruction at various levels within the UAE/UK LLB Program.
  • Monitor and assess individual student progress, providing feedback to ensure student success.
  • Utilize research, instructional resources, and community networks effectively.
  • Continuously seek innovative methods to achieve course objectives.
  • Participate in accreditation initiatives to maintain program excellence.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
