Dr.Mohamed Abdi Osman

Dr. Osman is an associate professor of Economics and Statistics. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. His research interests lie in macroeconomics; forecasting macroeconomic and financial variables using AI as well as other advanced econometric methodologies, energy economics; international macroeconomics and international finance. His research areas mainly cover but are not limited to the topics of forecasting economic growth; macroeconomic aspects of international finance, international portfolio allocation, income and consumption smoothing, energy economics; and modelling asymmetric behavior of macroeconomic variables. Currently, Dr. Osman has a number of publications in selected economic and finance journals including; Applied Economics, Journal of forecasting, energy policy, The North American Journal of Economics and Finance, Journal of Computational Finance, Managerial Finance, Australian Economic Papers, World Economy, Journal of Economics and Finance; International Economics and Economic Policy; Review of Middle East Economics and Finance; International Journal of energy economics and policy; International Journal of Economics and Business Research. He has acted as a referee for many different journals and currently, he is the reviewer for the Journal of Agricultural & Food Industrial Organization.
