Overview
Dr Saad Ali Amin is an associate professor at the IT academic department at the College of Engineering and IT, University of Dubai. His previous job was the Post Graduate Programme Director and International Programme Coordinator, Head of IT department and Quality Manager at Coventry University in the United Kingdom for over 20 years.
Furthermore, he has been a member of the Executive Council of Dubai Government Excellence Projects and an external adviser and member for numerous approval and review panels for MSc and BSc Computer and IT programmes for several universities in the UK and UAE
He held the position of Dean of Faculty of Informatics at the British University in Dubai for 4 years. During this time, he was responsible for the development of strategic planning for the faculty and he was involved in developing new graduate programs for masters and PhD in the subject area.
Currently, he is heavily involved in his research area (Image Processing, e-Systems, Biomedical computing and Health Informatics). he has two patents and over 120 international scientific peer-reviewed journals, conference articles and book chapters. He also supervised 18 PhD completions. As well as being a member of over 40 technical programme committees and chairing sessions at international conferences, He organised and chair various conferences, workshops and research seminars.
he is involved in several funded research and commercial projects from EU fund, Innovate UK, BUiD, UNESCO and Prime Minister Initiative. Take active part in a number of collaborative research projects with various partners and consortia in the UK and the EU (Institutes in France, Italy, Greece and Spain).
