Overview
Dr. Yasmin Halawani received her BSc degree from University of Sharjah, UAE, in 2012, the MSc by Research degree in 2014, and the PhD degree in 2019, both from Khalifa University (KU), UAE, and all in Electrical Engineering. She recently joined University of Dubai as an Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering and Information Technology. She worked from 2019 – 2022 as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the System-on-Chip Lab at KU in the area of utilizing emerging memory technologies for in-memory computing (IMC) paradigms and artificial intelligence applications. Her research projects focus on investigating the efficiency of IMC for both analog and digital domains. Yasmin also serves as a Board Member at the Arab Youth Research Council under the Arab Youth Center. Dr. Halawani authored/co-authored over 20 referred journals and conference proceedings, and 1 US patent. She was recognized by MIT Technology Review as an Innovator Under 35 in the Mena List (2021) on her work “Data compression using memristive crossbar”.
