Dubai, June 3, 2015: The University of Dubai has signed a memorandum of understanding with three private schools in the UAE as part of its new initiative to provide up to 50 per cent discounts on educational fees for outstanding students. Through the initiative, the university aims to attract the best students in the UAE and enhance the academic level of students at the University of Dubai. Schools with which the memorandum of understanding was signed included two branches each of Dubai International School, Al Shoruqe Private School, and Al Maarifa International Private School. On this occasion, Dr. Eesa M. Al Bastaki, President of University of Dubai, said the memorandum of understanding with the schools is part of the universityís continuing efforts to offer financial support to outstanding students in secondary schools. He explained that the schools have been chosen on the basis of the quality of education and their reputation in the education sector in the country. Stating that the quality of education must be preserved by all means, Dr. Al Bastaki said the universityís support for outstanding students will contribute to maintaining the quality of education provided by schools as well as the university. Dr. Al Bastaki said the university will sign more agreements in the coming period with other schools with the aim of maintaining the quality of education in the UAE. He said these agreements are part of the universityís overall strategic plans to help raise the quality of education in the UAE, and develop the process of higher education in the country and the region. Having received an overwhelming response from the participating schools, the University of Dubai expects that the first phase of this initiative will benefit a large number of students.
