The University of Dubai (UD) is offering 15 types of scholarships and discounts for UAE citizens and residents upon their enrolment in any of its undergraduate or master’s programs. 

These grants and discounts come within the framework of the University’s role in facilitating academic research and knowledge for new generations and helping parents reduce financial burdens, as it is a non-profit organization.  

The University also announces the continuation of its registration period and submission of its scholarship applications for those wishing to study these programs in the upcoming semester, and specified the toll-free number 800863 to communicate with applicants for registration in the various programs and specializations.

The College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) at the University also announces the provision of full and partial scholarships for its master’s program in Data Science, which is one of the latest master’s programs offered by the University in line with the UAE’s directions towards digital transformation and the expansion of artificial intelligence applications.

Dr. Nasser Al-Muraqqab, Vice President for Administrative Affairs at UD, explains that many scholarships that cover full tuition and partial fees for all years of study are designed under the name of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum to honor his endeavors towards the educational field. He added that Scholarships under his name also include a 50% reduction on tuition fees for all students who have achieved high school scores of 90% or above. Other scholarships and discounts include Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and scholarships that are part of Telecommunications Support Fund at the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), those offered by the Emirati businessman Adel Al-Kamel for five outstanding students who have obtained 95% or more, 50% for children of retired citizens, 10% for citizens and children of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and for those who work in the government or who have a brother or sister studying at the University, 20% for people with special needs, and 15% – 30% for holders of Homeland Protectors, Absher, Esaad, Fazaa, and Waffer cards, University employees, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and their first degree relatives, in addition to workers in the first line of defense, apart from the financial support through the Graduate Scholarship Fund established by the Alumni Affairs Office at the University, he said.  

In an interview, UD President Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki highlighted the importance of these scholarships as well as the modern and advanced programs to the University’s vision and strategic plans, which are in line with the next fifty-year plan set by the wise political leadership to meet the needs of the future labor market characterized by intense competition. “This would enable our graduates to keep pace with the digital transformation in the business world,” he added. 

Dr. Al Bastaki also congratulated high school students on their success and academic achievements despite the circumstances and challenges the world is going through and difficulties imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic on the educational process. In conclusion, he welcomed new students to the University of Dubai and announced the recent agreements the University has signed with a group of government institutions and private sectors to facilitate the access of scholarships and working experience for students who wish to work in these institutions upon their graduation.  “The agreements also include cooperation in the field of scientific research, in addition to helping students to train during their study period,” he said.
