University of Dubai Board of Trustees Approves New Programs and Strategic Plans  

The University of Dubai’s Board of Trustees, headed by Majid Hamad Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Board Member of Dubai Chamber, approved the new programs that the University plans to offer, including the Bachelor’s program in Law which will be launched next September, after receiving the official accreditation from the Ministry of Education. 

During a meeting which was attended by UD representatives, the board was briefed on the University’s strategic plans in the academic and administrative fields in line with the ten national principles that were set to guide the development of the UAE over the next fifty years. 

Through this step, the University aims to keep pace with the UAE’s plans towards a sustainable development in all sectors. 

On the other hand, the board highlighted the necessity of applying flexible strategies to keep up with the growing global technological and educational developments. 

 

In line with the board’s responsibility for fiduciary oversight, the board approved the external auditor’s report as well as the ideas presented by the President of the University, Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, in terms of programs, events, activities, achievements of the academic and administrative fields, international conferences organized by the University, delegation visits, its success in addressing the pandemic and its repercussions, its competitive advantages, quality assurance processes and other plans. 

Commenting on this, UD President Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki said that “the University is offering a wide range of distinguished academic and advanced educational programs that are designed according to the best international standards.” He added that the University is actively focusing on its role in boosting the field of scientific research, addressing societal issues and foreseeing the future. The University is keen to follow the requirements of the labor market, he added. 

The report also included the distinguished role played by research centers and laboratories at its Colleges of Business, Engineering and Information Technology in several areas, including energy, space, information security, entrepreneurship, “blockchain” and future studies.

The board recognized the efforts of the President as well as the academic and administrative staff, who contributed to the implementation of these programs, activities and achievements.
