Chinese Officials Visit University of Dubai

Alternate member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Standing Member of Fujian Provincial Committee of CPC, and Minister of Fujian Organization Ministry Mr. Hu Changsheng hailed the distinguished relations between the Republic of China and the United Arab Emirates. This came during a meeting held at the University of Dubai (UD) bringing together a delegation from the Chinese Communist Party headed by Mr. Hu Changsheng, Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki UD President, along with H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Sebaa Al Marri Executive President of Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, Dr. Saeed Al Dhahiri Chairman of SMART World, Eng. Saed Alawadi CEO of Dubai Export Development Corporation (DEDC), Dr. Yousef Al-Akraf Vice President of Human Resources at Dubai Electricity And Water Authority (DEWA), Mr. Mohammed Shaal Al Saadi Chief Executive Officer of the Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) sector in DED, as well as Mr. Sultan Al Hajji Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer Total E&P United Arab Emirates. During the meeting, they discussed the vision and mission of CPC as the ruling party in China as well as its role as the largest worldwide political party that combines more than 89 million members since it was founded in 1921, as Mr. Changsheng said. The meeting aimed at defining UDís activities and objectives given that it hosts a Confucius Institute for teaching Chinese language and culture at its campus. It also aimed at highlighting the results of the Nineteenth Congress of CPC, which was held last October, in which the comprehensive principles were established and a program for the development of CPC and the UAE was developed. In addition, the meeting highlighted the development phase in China which served the national economy and identified future, strategic plans for 2020 -2035. The meeting also uncovered the Chinese status among Middle Eastern countries as well as its commitment to support Arab issues and countries that are listed under the plan of the belt and the Silk Road. Dr. Al Bastaki stressed the importance of political and economic cooperation between the two countries and the UAEís commitment to the principles of tolerance, co-existence and non-interference in the affairs of others. ìThis would definitely enhance the bonds of cooperation and friendship between both countries and open the doors to more investment opportunities,î he added. Dr. Al Marri gave an overview about the academic cooperation between the UAE and Chinese universities. Dr. Al Dhahiri discussed the fields of technological cooperation between the UAE and China. Eng. Alawadi spoke about the goals of trade exchange and exports between the two countries. Dr. Al-Akraf reviewed the role of the Authority and its interaction with China, especially in the areas of renewable and solar energies. Mr. Al-Saadi discussed the history and economic relations between the two countries. Moreover, Mr. Al Hajji, displayed possible areas of exchange in terms of trade and more specifically oil.
