Overview
Dr. Kamarul Faizal Bin Hashim is an Associate Professor in Information Systems with over 20 years of experience working in the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and New Zealand.

He has a Doctoral degree (in Business Information Systems) from Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand (2012), a Master of Information Technology (System & Management Sciences) degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (2004), and a Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons.) degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia (2001). He recently graduated from the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School Executive Program in Business Analytics in Decision Making.

Dr. Hashim is a highly regarded academician with an excellent established record of teaching, research, and publication. He has successfully taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to Information Systems and Computer Science. He was presented with the University of Dubai’s Excellent Teaching Award in 2018. Dr. Hashim has vast experience in managing academic departments at higher education institutions. He was appointed as the Chair of the IT Department (University of Dubai, 2017 - 2020), Senate Member (Universiti Utara Malaysia, 2013 - 2016), Director of the Cocurricular Center (Universiti Utara Malaysia, 2013 - 2016), Deputy Director of Research and Innovation Management Center (Universiti Utara Malaysia, 2012 - 2013), and many other important academic administration positions.

Dr Hashim’s research work mainly focuses on the domain of Digital Society which gives attention to examining behavioural aspects of information systems adoption, application of social media intelligence, and government digital transformation.

Finally, he has over 52 journal articles and conference proceedings published in reputable Information Systems journals and at international conferences (link to google scholar).

Throughout his career, he has successfully supervised twelve doctoral and master's students. He is still actively supervising postgraduate students and at the same time has been invited to evaluate students’ doctoral and master thesis.
