Overview
Dr. Maisam Wahbah received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 2013, 2015 and 2019 respectively. Her M.Sc. research project focused on designing an efficient power conversion circuit for the piezo electric energy harvester as part of a fully-autonomous biomedical system. During her Ph.D. research, she focused on renewable energy characterization for optimal energy utilization. She developed accurate and reliable statistical models of wind speed and solar irradiance resources for electrical power systems long-term planning and design studies. Dr. Wahbah joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Khalifa University as a Post-Doctoral Fellow from 2019 to 2022. In her research work, she analyzed the interaction between the pregnant mother and the fetus by using ECG signals recorded from human as well as mice subjects. Dr. Wahbah is currently an Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Dubai, Dubai, UAE. She is currently the IEEE UAE Section Awards and Recognition Committee Chair. Her research interests include signal processing, biomedical data analysis, nonparametric statistical modeling, and circuits and systems.
