International Festival Day 2018 at University of Dubai

International Festival Day is one of the most anticipated and sought after events at University of Dubai (UD). Finally, that day came last Tuesday when we had an opportunity to enjoy rich cultural program organized by UD students.

The event took place at campus terrace area, that was only area large enough to accommodate all the needs of Students’ Union, clubs and their audience.    

The event itself is a celebration of students from all different countries and nationalities at UD. Members of different student clubs during event had a chance to showcase their own country culture, traditions, food, and folkloric performance.  

The aim of the event was creating a more meaningful and comfortable international atmosphere at the university for all students and to…have more fun. Many believe university succeeded in both. Currently University of Dubai is home to 42 nationalities studying at UD with majority being members of 11 Student Clubs and 2 Student Organizations. Student performances and decorated booths came from: University of Dubai Students’ Union (UDSU), Emirati, Syrian, Palestinian, Jordanian, Iraqi, Egyptian and French culture clubs. Other non-cultural clubs were also present as Gaming, Environmental and Innovation & Entrepreneurship clubs entertained all visitors with gaming tournament, exhibition of animals and the best idea competition respectively.
 
Raffle draw providers this year were ibis Styles Hotel Dragon Mart, Aventura Nature Parks, Virtual Worlds, Bermuda Water Sports, Dubai Dolphinarium, IMG Worlds of Adventure and Personal20 Fitness Studio. We appreciate all their support in making International Festival Day a great event.
