Like any Middle Eastern country, the United Arab Emirates specifically Dubai is warm and humid for 8 – 9 months in a year with temperatures ranging from 35 – 45 degrees Celsius. The hot and humid climate can be experienced from April till November. The temperatures go down to around 10 – 20 degrees Celsius from the months of December till March making it cool and pleasant for more outdoor activities.
University of Dubai is located in one of the oldest parts of Dubai called Deira. It’s a great place to explore along the bustling corniche, through the souks, in heritage sites and creekside restaurants and bars. Deira’s heavily lived-in atmosphere and traffic-laden, bustling streets have been made more accessible by the introduction of the Metro. The heart of Deira is densely built up with a mix of old apartment blocks, while nearer the creek there are several new buildings offering modern apartments, many with spectacular views across the water. Rents are relatively low in some of the more built up areas, while the creekside dwellings cost much more. Although congested at most times Once you get past the horrible traffic and lack of parking that plagues it, Deira’s best attribute is its walkability.
University of Dubai has special discounted rates with the following hotel apartments.
More information regarding affordable housing in Deira can be found at
- Dubai is a small city so it is easy to go around using public transportation. During the cooler months walking the streets is also one way to go around. You may go to the website of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) the government entity responsible for the transportation and traffic within Dubai and its neighboring Emirates at www.rta.ae to know more about the available means of transportation, schedules and directional maps in and around Dubai (e.g. metro, taxi, bus)
